Bangladesh National Information Service is under the supervision of the Cabinet Department of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh under the A2I (Access to Information) program with the aim of guaranteeing the right of the people to receive information and guaranteeing the receipt of paid services from government offices, including about twenty five thousand in the country including all unions, upazilas, districts, divisions, directorates and ministries. Bangladesh National Information Broadcasting was launched last June to easily deliver various services of the government to the people with the help of digital technology. The world's largest digital web portal has been launched in Bangladesh as part of the government's efforts to bring government services to people's doorsteps. Its name is Bangladesh National Information Bureau (www.bangladesh.gov.bd). Inaugurating this portal on June 23, Prime Minister's Information Technology Adviser Sajib Wazed Joy said, "We have verified that no other country in the world has 25,000 government websites in one place. Only in Bangladesh now. More than 50,000 government officials have received training in data entry. It was planned and implemented by the Access to Information (A2I) programme. It is good to say that there was a website at the address www.bangladesh.gov.bd earlier. But then its range was less.
